Recruit Up

Recruit up.

What does it mean to recruit up exactly and why do you want do it?

When we say you should recruit up, we mean recruiting people who are up the “socioeconomic” ladder from you.

This means people who are already used to making a 6-figure income . . .

. . . but are giving up all their free time to do it.

You can show them how they can make what they’re earning now or more working less and using leverage.

Why do you want to recruit up?

First of all, you’ll be working with people who have already been making a 6-figure income.

This means it won’t be a stretch for them to visualize making 6-figures in your business.

Recruit Up

A second big reason is that oftentimes people who are making $100,000+ per year have the personalities and qualities that are needed to be successful in Network Marketing.

It won’t always be the case, but often they’ll have leadership and sales skills.

They will also usually have good people skills and a positive attitude and mindset.

And they’ll also have a network of other 6 figure earners.

Ultimately, those are going to be the keys to succeeding in any business.

Who’s Good?

Good candidates for recruiting up are bankers, mortgage brokers, realtors, auto salespeople and doctors.

These are all people who probably already earn a 6-figure income, but they spend a lot of their time doing it . . .

In other words, they’re money rich but time poor.

Your job is to show them how they can get their time back without sacrificing their income.

And they’ll usually so excited they’ll take the business opportunity and run with it.

Now I’m not saying don’t work to recruit the clerk from the store down the street or the front desk person from your gym.

They’re going to be as interested in making a 6-figure income as much as anyone.

Just be aware that you may need to spend a little more time coaching them and providing them with Personal Development tools for them to succeed.

And there’s nothing wrong with that.

You should be serious about getting anyone started in your business who is serious about it themselves.

In fact, Jim Rohn would recruit in every store he went into with this simple script:

Jim (to cashier): “Let me ask you, have you found the opportunity that is going to take care of you and your family for the rest of your life?”
Cashier: “I didn’t even know there was such a thing.”
Jim: “Let me ask you another question, how often do you look for an opportunity like that?”
Cashier: “I didn’t know I was supposed to be looking.”
Jim: (handing cashier a business card): “Well if you decide you want to get serious about looking, give me a call.”

But you should focus on your ability to recruit up if you quickly want to build a powerful team full of leaders.
