The C.B.A.’s of Success – Conceive

So maybe you read the headline of this blog post and thought “that must be a typo”.

It’s not.

The C.B.A.’s of success are Conceive, Believe and Achieve. That is the true essence of success.

And it’s so important, I’m going to devote three days to it.

We’ll get started by talking about Conceive.

The C.B.A.'s of Success - Conceive

What do I mean by that?

If you want to achieve something, you must first be able to conceive it. You need to be able to envision it in your mind.

You need to be able to think of exactly what you want.

If you can’t conceive of something, how would you ever be able to achieve it?

Aim High

The key to this is to remember these two phases.

The C.B.A.'s of Success - Aim High

Think Big because you’ll never be bigger than your Thoughts.”

“Dream Big because you’ll never be bigger than your Dreams”.

Those are both sound pieces of advice.

Always aim as high as you can.

By aiming high, even if you miss, you will achieve a much higher level of success than if you aim low and hit.

It reminds me of a friend’s favorite quote from our high school yearbook. ‘It is better to aim at the stars and hit the moon, than to aim at the moon and hit the ground‘.

So go ahead and dream big.

What Do You Want?

So what do you want in life?

Do you want to increase your income by 2 times, 3 times or more?

Do you want to be rich and make a million dollars a year?

Ultra rich and make a million dollars a month?

A new Mercedes?

A Jaguar?

A Ferrari?

A Rolls?The C.B.A.'s of Success - Rolls-Royce

How about a summer house? A winter house?

Maybe you want to give hundreds of thousands of dollars to your 10 favorite charities each year?

Whatever your dream is, you need to be able to Conceive it before you can Achieve it.

Action Steps

Once you have Conceived what you want,  you need to write it out.

On a piece of paper with a pen.

The C.B.A.'s of Success - Write it Down

Typing it on your computer doesn’t have the same power as writing it out by hand.

And when you write it, you want to write it in the present tense. Write it like you have already Achieved it.

Write ‘I earn one million dollars a year’ not ‘I will earn one million dollars a year’. This will Help you with the next step of Believing.

Do this first thing every morning. Even if you have to wake up five minutes earlier to do it.

Remember, it’s important to know exactly what you want. The more precise you can be in describing what it is you want, the more likely it is that you’ll actually Achieve it.

Saying ‘I have a new car’ or ‘I have lots of money’ will produce, at best, mixed results.

So go ahead and get specific with it. Get as detailed as you can.

Maybe you don’t know what you want. That’s OK. It’s actually common.

If that’s the case, start by writing down what you don’t want. Then write the opposite.

Let’s say you write “I don’t want to be in debt.” The opposite would be “I want plenty of money to pay all my bills.”

From there you could change it to an exact amount. “I want $8,000 per month to be able to pay my bills.”

Now go ahead and do this for everything that you want (or don’t want).

Tomorrow, I’ll talk about Believing and its importance to success.
