Who Is Your Greatest Teacher?

Have you ever sat down and figured out who your greatest teacher is?

People come up with many different answers . . .  but they usually aren’t the right one.

Your Greatest Teacher

Elementary school or high school teachers and even college professors are named . . .

Your sponsor that brought you into network marketing . . .

The internet “guru” that taught you all about how to market yourself online . . .

The author who’s books you’ve read all of are also common answers.

These are the same answers that I gave until recently.

Then I started reading a book by Dr. Wayne Dyer called Manifest Your Destiny.

In this book, Dr. Dyer makes it clear who our greatest teachers in life are . . .

Do You Have Buttons?

The people who are our greatest teachers are the ones who are able to “push our buttons”!

At first I found this hard to believe.

But when you think about it, it makes sense.

Your Greatest Teacher

If someone is able to “push your buttons” and get you to alter your behavior, they truly have some serious power over you.

Having the ability to make you go from a calm, rational person one second to an angry, irrational hot-head the next?

That is some serious power.

 

Why Are They Our Greatest Teacher?

But why would someone who can make us “flip out” be our greatest teacher?

What lesson can be taught by being coaxed to anger?

The big lesson is that we still have a lot to learn and master about ourselves.

Only when we can learn to move past the anger and upset that those who “push our buttons” bring out in us, can we say that we’ve mastered our emotions.

Emotional Rescue

Being in control of our emotions is an enormous part of succeeding in network marketing, or any business . . .

Or even just in life.

Your Greatest Teacher

This makes it important to see the power in learning to master your emotions.

Building a network marketing business can be demanding enough . . .

You don’t want to deal with the emotions that a difficult prospect or new distributor can bring out.

The best way to avoid this is to pay close attention to what it is that your greatest teacher does that causes you to become so upset.

 

 

What To Do

Once you know what it is, then you need to figure out why it makes you get so upset.

That’s the easy part . . .

The hard part is to learn to master yourself, your thoughts and your response.

And the rewards that you will reap from that are tremendous.

Your Greatest Teacher

A good first step is asking yourself  “Why am I reacting this way?”

When you ask your brain a question, it HAS to find an answer . . . It’s the way we’re wired.

By asking that question, you’ll shift the focus from the buttons your teacher has pushed to trying to solve the question.

 

And once you have the answer, you might just find that when the button gets pushed, it doesn’t make you respond the same way anymore

Another good resource is to study NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

This will give you a lot of powerful tools to learn to modify your behavior.

And ultimately realize that when you allow someone to push your buttons, you’re giving all of your power away to them.

That just doesn’t make sense.
